With this in mind we strive to take care of our people with as much commitment and vigor as we would apply when taking care of the business itself. To ensure that our employees are able to focus on getting the job done, our benefits package is designed to take away many of the day to day worries that people can face with modern living.

Hornbill provides a comprehensive, flexible and easy to use benefits package that is highly competitive. You and your eligible dependents are able to participate in most of these programs from the day you start working at Hornbill as a regular, full-time employee.

Your Health

Medical Care

Medical care is provided for all employees based in the United Kingdom through BUPA. Coverage for employees is paid for by the company and you may opt to share in the costs when adding your eligible dependents to the plan.
Vision Care
Vision benefits are offered to all employees. Eligible expenses include routine eye exams, as well as a contribution towards eyeglass lenses, frames, and contact lenses when required.

Your Finances

Contributory Pension Plan

Eligible employees may choose to contribute 3% of their gross basic salary to the plan which is tax free. The company will match the 3% contribution, with an upper limit of £2,250 per annum.

Your Time

Public Holidays

There are eight (8) designated UK public holidays for which all full-time employees based at any UK location receive full pay.

Vacation/Annual Leave

All full-time employees are eligible to receive full pay for annual leave. Time is accrued beginning on the first day of your employment with the company. Paid time off accrues based on the following: -
  • 0 through 2 years of service - 25 days per annum
  • 3 years of service - 26 days per annum
  • 4 years of service - 27 days per annum
  • 5 years of service - 28 days per annum
  • 6 years of service - 29 days per annum
  • 7 years of service - 30 days per annum

Sick Days

The company, at its discretion, will continue to pay employees full salary for time off sick up to 5 days per holiday year. The company may also choose to continue full or partial salary payments for further time off sick depending on circumstances and length of service.

Flexible Start/Finish Time

Certain qualifying employees may choose to start early or late and finish early or late. This scheme is designed to help people that commute to optimise their journey to and from their office by avoiding rush-hour traffic and reduce the amount of traveling time.

Protection for you and your family

Life Insurance

The company provides standard life insurance cover for all eligible full-time employees which will pay four (4) times annual salary in the event of death.

Business Travel Insurance

The company provides full insurance for all employees traveling outside of the country they are based. The type of cover depends on the specific travel, but accident and emergency medical care are both covered.

Long-Term Disability/Income Protection

Each employee is covered by the company's Income Protection scheme. In the event of either a long-term illness or injury that prevents you from working, the scheme will pay 50% of your salary until you either return to work or reach the company's standard age for retirement.

Other Benefits

Employee Referral Scheme

This scheme provides a bonus payment of £1,500 to any existing employee that introduces a new employee candidate to Hornbill that is subsequently employed by the company.

Automatic Deposit of Salary

Your salary is automatically paid into your bank account on the last Friday of every calendar month. Reimbursement of business-related expenses is also paid directly into your bank account.

Personal Benefits Management

The company provides a secure extranet system which is made available to you which enables you to monitor and manage your personal benefits package. As well as providing detailed information on your exact benefits and their value, the system allows you to manage your pension fund, opt in and out of other benefits and also provides a range of discounted shopping, voucher benefits and financial services.

Quality Working Environment

Hornbill's working environment is secure, modern, spacious and environmentally regulated, includes free hot drinks, fresh fruit and quality drinking water throughout the day. Every other Friday the company provides soft drinks and hot snacks for the last 30 minutes of the day to facilitate inter-company socialising and communication away from the desk environment.

Travel and Parking Facilities

The company makes free parking available for qualifying employees who choose to drive into the office. The company's offices are located within easy walking distance of public transport connections to help ease the burden of commuting by car.

Entertainments and Social Committee

The company runs a number of organised events and sporting activities throughout the year for its employees. The company encourages an employee-run Entertainments and Social Committee to drive these initiatives.
